12B-1 Percent
annual fee assessed to cover the costs of selling and marketing fund shares, as a percentage of the average daily fund assets. Some mutual funds charge a 12b-1 fee rather than up-front or back-end commissions. This fee is allowed under the SEC's Rule 12b-1 (passed in 1980)
