  What is...?
Payable Date
Payable Date is the date on which a declared stock dividend is scheduled to be paid to the holders of record. The Payable Date is set by the company's Board of Directors when they declare the dividend. The Payable Date is generally a week or more after the Record Date to allow time for processing.

It should be noted that Cash Dividends are paid out on the Payable Date. However, Dividend Equivalents and Dividend Reinvestments are held in escrow and are not paid out until the underlying restricted stock shares vest and/or are released.
