  What is...?
Market value of borrowed stocks
The market value of borrowed stocks (short) represents the value of all shares held "short" in your account. Short shares are shares you have borrowed from your broker and sold, which you must buy back later and return to the broker. There are certain risks when you sell short, and it's important to know what they are before you place this kind of trade. The market value is determined by using the market price for each security as of previous day's market close.
