| Open outstanding call If you see an open outstanding call on the balances page, this means that your account entered into a margin call situation. The value is the total dollar amount that you must add to your account. This action may involve selling securities in your account to meet the call, or closing short positions. Our general recommendation is that you either wire the funds or send them via overnight courier (such as FedEx or UPS). Should you choose this option, call us at 1-800-786-2575 and pass along the tracking information-and we'll note this on your account. For more information, ready about meeting a margin call. If you choose to liquidate positions or wire the funds the open outstanding call will not be reduced until the following market day. Note: We may take action in your account with or without notice to you. E*TRADE Securities may sell any and all securities in your account at our discretion in these situations.
